If it weren't for the most pleasant company of teLyd, Nestor, and Rey and Pearl, my family and I would've packed up too soon. It rained the whole morning we were at UPLB, Makiling. Dark, soggy, foggy day. Managed to get a lifer of the Red-crested Malkoha but begging to be re-shot when the light is better, allowing faster shutters, and drier, allowing closer shots. The Balicassiao were aplenty but blue-black birds in a dark rained-out canopy is tough. This got me curious though. In the photos, Balicassiao seems to feed on ants (I assume the bunched dried leaves are a nest of ants).

Yes, it was quite wet and cold but the warmth of Ding's and Nestor's camaraderie really made my day. Thanks a lot Ding for letting me borrow your monopod, enjoyed using it in the formula races too. Hope to shoot with you again on a sunnier day

Love the rain streaks on this one, Ding! Looks like a wet birding day in Makiling (and Candaba too).... me, I'm stuck at home processing pics from my last two Candaba sorties (shot a total of 30 GB). ;D
