With the kind permission of KA MASTAH, I'm beginning a thread on trees and plants that the birds love. Please post them here and we will see if we can ID, find seeds or seedlings, share the same, so anyone who wants to build their own backyard bird gardens can do so. And for sure, they will come.
Please indicate: Place found and date. This will establish the fruiting season. If you know the name, scientific or local, please share. That would be grrrrreat!
This is PBP's contribution to protecting the wildlife habitat.
Everyone is welcomed to post. Can we limit it first to those plants and trees found in the Philippines?
If we are able to come up with a good number of excellent photographs, we can do a back to back book on What attracts Birds and Butterflies. I volunteer to spearhead the project.
Feed the birds, telyd

I hope someone could ID this tree. It's of medium height and spreading rounded canopy, about as tall as a young mango tree or a full-grown ratilles. It seems to be the favorite of different birds in Subic, some of which are: Tarictics, Pigeons, Malkohas, and Bulbuls. If someone's going there, would you mind picking up a few fruits so I can try planting it? Nearby is another tree, this one's tall, whose fruits seem to be favored by Balicassiaos and bark pecked by Woodpeckers.
