I was out for a walk at the Marin Headlands in San Francisco (across the Golden Gate Bridge) when I came across this flock of birders! They were all looking over the water a spot called Bird Rock. Canon G9, f/4.0, 1/250

Looks like they're from one of the many birding groups in the bay area. Is this on the east or west side of the bridge? Another good area is Pt Reyes, quite a ride more from the SF area. It's closer to the Farallon Islands., a wildlife refuge.

We were actually trying to get to the Point Reyes lighthouse and ended up here. This is the not-SF city side of the Golden Gate bridge. Here's Bird Island. It's white because it's covered in poop? and the information board about Bird Island

Here's Bird Island. It's white because it's covered in poop? They call it "guano" according to the info board. LOL. Nice term they used. Oh, so you didn't make it to the lighthouse? Yeah, it's still a long way from the bridge. On the way, there's a park where you can actually see marks of the San Andreas fault, an oyster farm (yum!), some stores which makes Pt Reyes cheeses (a blue cheese), and of course cow farms. Will try to look for the bird rock the next time I go to SF. Thanks.
