It's a two and a half hours drive south of Manila. It is the last town of Batangas to the east bordering the province of Quezon. Most of the area is composed of rice fields, coconut plantations and it has a long stretch of shoreline facing the Tayabas Bay, where a good number of fishponds have been established. These fishponds are at the moment unused as the aquaculture industry is in a down turn. Unlucky for the owners but it is a refuge for migrating birds. The rice fields are also home to several species from waders to grassland birds. The bird list is long and here are some of the photos taken in just a small part of this vast area. Mostly taken from fishponds around Brangays ?? and ??. Please PM for exact locations or contact Profjerry. Osprey ( Pandion haliaetus) White-bellied Sea Eagle - imm. ( Haliaeetus leucogaster) Peregrine Falcon ( Falco peregrinus ernesti) To be continued....

What a harvest!
That place where the beeeaters nest loks a lot like the one in Tadlac that Ixi, TJ, and I went to.
