Wooohoo! got me a lifer today!! It's been awhile since my last lifer. Got this at La Mesa watershed. I think JP's got a better capture, anyway, the tiredness from the almost 10km we walked was gone in a second when we saw this towards the end of the sortie ;D Ashy Thrush ( Zoothera cinerea) Endemic, Vulnerable 40D + 600 mm f4 IS, f4, 1/250 sec, ISO 640, Tripod and Gimbal support, in available light.

Yahoo! Didn't get the trush myself. While JP and Neon was stalking, had to set our lunch. But I know where it is. And as the Terminator once said: "Ahh'll be back." But the walk was well worth it. Sweet exhaustion. Neon had to go to Goodah. I stopped by a gas station and got two beers which was gone even before I got home.

Congrats to both of you, and welcome to the exclusive AGT Club..... before you, I know of only two guys who were AGTC members (me and a foreign birder). ;D BTW, was the bird shy? I remember the one I saw way up the trail at Mt. Makiling in 2004 allowed me a few shots before flying away. Mine was identified as an immature by the experts..... I wonder if the new bird is already an adult? I wonder if the new bird is already an adult? Yes Ka Mastah, It was quite shy, we were only allowed to photograph it from around 20m, any closer than this the birds fly away. It could be a young adult as the other bird with it flew away as soon as it detected us in the area. It was really hard to get a clear shot with all the tangles of branches and vines. We were just lucky we were coming from a top a hill and shooting down. When we tried coming from bellow the hill it was harder. We stalked it from all angles but as soon as we were about to shoot it it just disappeared, not even 3 pairs of eyes were able to see where it went.

I think Desmond Allen is going to hurry back from the U.K. just to see this bird. Seriously, you should tell him about it. Congratulations. Cheers!

Congratulation Neon first of all for walking 10 Km with the 600 mm I'm sure it felt lighter as you kept walking and for the lifer that only a few selected group have. JP nice capture also on your new lens. My advise is to take your nourishment of goto with a lot of san mig before any 10 km or more walk next time.

Sayang Ding... I hope you can get a capture next time. Went back around 1PM today but just for an hour since I was on the way to a project. Didn't see the AGT but saw a beautiful Pitta! Was too slow to shoot but I now have a new target.
