shot with a 40d, 100-400L 1/500th @f/8 ISO 250 Reifel Island Migratory Bird Sanctuary Delta, BC pls ID bird. thanks Do you have an estimate how big/small this bird is April? around 6 inches in height, i'd say larger than a robin.

around 6 inches in height, i'd say larger than a robin. It looks like a female brown-headed cowbird then. But I'm not sure if the range can reach Vancouver. I could be wrong though. Do you have another shot showing the back part like the wings?

thanks bob! i googled the brown-headed cowbird, i saw the male brown-headed cowbird in the photo. i remembered shooting those birds too as it was right beside these birds! thanks!! I really need to pick up a guide book! thanks for the tip
