Wooohhoo!! Got me a Rainbow Bee-Eater at last!! @ William N. - Sorry, I did not bother you anymore as it was a working day when I was in Darwin last July 30. Been walking at the Bicentennial Park and was lucky to get two lifers, one was the Bee-eater and the other a cuckoo. 40D + 300 mm f4 IS + 1.4 Kenko TC, f8, 1/1000, ISO 400, Manual Exposure, Raw Capture, Hand Held. Click on the photo for the link to the rest of the captures.

Thanks Guys!! Here's the Cuckoo, it was very difficult to expose properly as half its body was in the shade.

Thanks again Guys, this were my last photos before being incarcerated again.
Bobby, I'm not too sure with the ID, I need to get hold of my Australian Birds field guide to get the correct ID. Maybe William N. could help on this....William, mate!! can we get your opinion on this cuckoo's ID.

Great pose of the cuckoo, Neon! I'll go out on a limb and say it's a Horsfield's Bronze-Cuckoo (Chrysococcyx basalis) ;D

According to my guide, it looks more like a Little Bronze Cuckoo (Chrysococcyx minutillus) Rufous breasted form - Female. The Horsefield's has a brown band across the eyes around to the back of the head while this one doesn't Anyway I think it's accurate unless someone can correct me Hope this helps William

....... ;D ;D ;D <--- somebody translate that to english please ( it's so much nicer to say it in tagalog) Looks pretty plain in any language to me.... but let me make a stab at the translation, Plain Idol: "Three round shapes, color yellow (according to Pogito), with a white half-circle in the lower part (subdivided by 2 vertical lines), and two letter C shapes rotated 90 degrees clockwise above the semi-circle. These forms are usually interpreted as a grin." ;D A very nice shot of the cuckoo, Neon!
