This might win in the ugliest category of bird images here in PBPF. Just posting it here to share how a molting hummingbird looks like, a docu shot. Straight from the camera, just cropped. This male Anna's will look handsome in a few days.

Still quite good-looking, Ted.... certainly much prettier than a 22-day balut. ;D

Ted, it looked like you stabbed him/her in the heart with a red perch ;D

I agree it dosn't look bad despite the moulting stage, would be nice to see it with the new plumage.

Ted, it looked like you stabbed him/her in the heart with a red perch ;D Yeah, it's ugly. I will replace the plastic perch with something natural soon. And also, the placement of the feeder is not ideal for photography yet. It's optimized just for viewing right now. Thanks guys. I'm happy that I can distinguish the male Anna from the juveniles and females, which looks similar.

He's getting there, but still not quite. A few more days maybe. He's patiently guarding the perimeter from other male hummers, as it seems he claimed the feeder as his own and his (future) partner.
