Romy, Thanks. You are right. Most of the Bird Photographers here are having a party at Japanese Gardens/Ghinese Gardens. This CKF finally get used to the crowds so we can get quite close. Sometimes had to back off in order to focus.

OK. Thanks Rey. I'm sure I know some of your relatives. One of them is Willie, a good friend who passed away at a very young age, I used to work with Willie in the bank. Tall, dark and handsome. Fine guy. Good man. telyds

Rey, follow-up question/s: Why were you in DX mode? Is the 500 a DX lens? Are there any benefits using a DX mode than the FX?
Thanks.

If I'm not mistaken, it's a D3 accdg. to the exif. Yes, I'm using a D3. My 500mm VR lens was an FX lens. However, the D3 has a feature to choose from FX, DX, 5:4. The resolution drops to appprox 6 MP but the Birds look bigger. Actually same a FX then crop to 6 MP. Lazy to do some cropping.

That's what I thought (the same as cropping). Yes, same as cropping. Actually D300 is better for Birding due to the 1.5 crop factor. I also bring my D2X but can't push the ISO when the light is low. When light is very good, then forget to change Cam. Lazy me.
