This little guy was captured way back in October 2004 inside the Mactan naval base, when I was birding with Nilo A. (haven't met Bobby K. yet at that time). Just reprocessed it using the latest PS techniques that I learned..... ;D 20D + 400 5.6L, f/8, 1/640 sec, ISO 400, Av-priority, hand held, JPEG capture:Romy

Thanks, Tina.... About the new PS techniques, nothing exotic, except that I can treat my old JPEG captures as pseudo-RAW in CS3 ACR. First I save the unprocessed jpeg capture as 16-bit TIFF (this minimizes the possibility of further compression losses). Then in CS3, I "open as" camera RAW. The TIFF file is now uploaded in ACR, and you can do white balance corrections, NR, curves, levels, sharpening, etc., as if the capture is RAW. Of course, you can also attempt detail recovery in the highlights or shadows. But since the mother file is a compressed JPEG to start with, there's not much detail to recover. After adjustments in ACR, you can save it anew as 16-bit TIFF and continue PP in CS3. I use it mainly to improve the WB of my old JPEG captures. Romy Beautiful capture Romy. Can you also teach me the new PS techniques that you learned ? Pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Thanks a lot Romy Will try this once I find the time to install PS3 and get over my fear to ruining some other program whenever I install a new one.
