Spent the morning with PropJerry, Mando, Jun, Chito, and, later, the beastmaster Neon. We chanced upon these flowepeckers at UP-IS: Pygmy Flowerpecker Dicaeum pygmaeumf/8.0 1/200s ISO320 with Canon 420EX flash f/8.0 1/50s ISO640
It was overcast and drizzling at times so had to use my flash at times. I think it'd be interesting to post here a commparison of ambient light and flash photos. Definitely, the one without flash looks more natural. With Flash f/8.0 1/50s ISO640 with Canon 420EX flash Ambient Light f/8.0 1/50s ISO640
Distringuising black head and white throat for the male: f/8.0 1/125s ISO640
The bird also has some interesting color on the lesser wing coverts f/8.0 1/50s ISO320
All photos shot with: Canon EOS 40D + Canon 400mmL + 1.4x Kenko TC Benro C298n6 / Manfrotto 3421 support manual exposure, manual focus

Nicely detailed shots of this little dynamo, Ding.... great job on the flash too! Great set Ding. Agree with the Mastah on the use of the flash. It's not that easy to control.

Ding, Sunday morning is the most important time in my life. That's when I go to meet my Master and I'm not talking of Mastah Romy of course. The latter changed my shooting genre, the former changed my life.
