hello all, this just came to me...is VR (or IS) still effective during high speed shooting? looking at my photos, majority of my keepers are the first one of a series of shots. just want to have an idea if reason for this is my shooting technique or the incorrect use of VR. look forward to your insights

With single shot the focus is never shifted from the first location while IA servo would adjust and track the subject and keep it in focus.

This usually happens when you are in single shot mode and not on AI servo focusing mode. With single shot the focus is never shifted from the first location while IA servo would adjust and track the subject and keep it in focus. This was also my problem until a few weeks ago. I was wondering the same thing. "why do I have too many unfocused shots?" Then I remembered... When everything fails, go read the manual ;D ;D ;D Here's a quote from Romy: ...you can use all points AI servo if the BG is sky for easier tracking. If the BG is terrain, then switch to center point for better AF response. It takes a lot of practice to consistently keep the AF bead on a BIF....
