I led an "expedition" of sorts to a place in Cebu, targeting the Cebu FP, but Lady Luck was somewhere else this time. However, I did manage to capture a few species there: Coppersmith Barbet: Mangrove Blurred(!) Flycatcher: White-vented Whistler ( A Philippine Endemic) A Crimson Sunbird: And a Sunbird - maybe a Pygmy? Got some others amd will post them later. This forum Rocks! Bobby K. {Bobby, you forgot to append the img commands in the WVWhistler pic, I fixed it}

Wowowowwww!!!! Those are the best local captures of the Crimson Sunbird I've seen, and the WV Whistler...... OMG, I'd molt a square inch of head feathers for that shot! Big congrats Bobby for the large haul, you really need to contact your book printer now for the next edition.. Romy PS - can't help in the ID of the last pic, exotic flowerpeckers are tough to identify, I suggest you post that pic too in the Bird ID board. Steve P. drops in frequently.

Awesome captures Bobby!! your CSB is different from what we normally see. It has a red throat!! normally we see a yellow throat area. This one is probably the race Megalaima haemacephala intermedia.
Cheers,
Neon

Bobby, Cebu has its' own endemic race for the Barbet - Megalaima haemacephala cebuensis.
Yes, OK on the Pachycephala - endemic race major on Cebu. Though none of the Rhinomyias FC's have been recorded it is always a good idea to check them out when looking at this particular Pachycephala as both Rhinomyias ruficauda boholensis, and Rhinomyias albigularis could occur possibly, and certainly if they did they would constitute confusion species with this Pachycephala.
