My business partner William just arrived from HK...... I'm happy to see him, and happier still to receive the 2 pcs of Sandisk Extreme III 16 GB (30 Mbps) my friend bought from there at roughly USD 145/piece. Each one works flawlessly in my 40D and 1DM2, performing a bit faster than my Ridata 4 GB 150x. Emulating RG's test protocol, I got the following write speeds for RAWs: 1. 40D - 10.1 mbps 2. 1DM2 - 8.2 mbps Here's a snapshot of one taken with a 1DM2 + Sigma 24 1.8: For those needing a fast, reliable and large capacity CF card, this one is a steal when bought at HK (roughly PHP 408/GB). "All eggs in one basket" concern? Well, I used to think about that too when I jumped from 256 MB cards to "huge" 1 GB ones. ;D

I got the 8gb version of this 30mb/s speeddemon and very happy. Amazing how, just a couple months ago, I spent about a third less than that ($99) in the US and that was a steal.
Yep. All-eggs-in-one-basket fears are a thing of the past for me. I carry around another basket: a Vosonic portable data storage device.

That's a good deal Ding.
I would have bought this card too if I'm not only shopping for UDMA cards.
I'm not sure what's up with Sandisk, (and Lexar), the UDMAs are very hard to get one recently (because of the Olympics?).
Maybe HK is the place to shop right now.
