Went to Hidden Valley Springs in Alaminos yesterday. Wasn't able to take photos of one of my favorite birds (purple throated sunbird) because I had to take my cousin around since it was her first time there so had very little time to go birding. Here are the very few birds that I was able to take pictures of. Scale Feathered Malkoha40D + 300mm f/4L IS ; 1/320 ; f/5.6 ; ISO 640 ; handheld Olive Backed Sunbird40D + 300mm f/4L IS ; 1/320 ; f/8.0 ; ISO 640 ; handheld Added these plus other pictures to my Hidden Valley Birds Gallery

Wow Idol Tins, this is so beautiful, the composition and the habitat is so pleasing to the eyes, I would frame this if it was mine. Great work as usual.

Thanks a lot Rey. While we were leisurely walking our tired selves out of Hidden Valley, I stopped to rest and saw this malkoha, by chance, perched on a tree that was quite far from where I was. I gave my tripod to my companion and ran towards the area where it was. Lucky me, it was so busy hopping from branch to branch that it did not seem to notice me. Felt bad that my 400mm was not the one I was using coz it kept on flying from tree to tree and it would have been such a treat to take photos of this bird in flight....
Now, I HAVE to GO BACK to Hidden Valley again soon ;D

That's why I ran towards it's direction. Geeezzz had to go around this thing pa in order to get to the area where it was. Didn't want to take my eyes off it but had no choice. Good thing nalang, when I finally got to the area it was still hopping from branch to branch. Yipppeeeee Thanks Neon

Excellent shot of the Scale-feathered Malkoha!!!! Also the sunbird that must have just eaten a spider - the web is still connected to the beak! Great job as always, Tina!
