Thanks a lot IDOL Romy, Toto, Rey, William and Nestor Toto: Birding in Subic is pretty easy coz you just drive around slowly along the roads in the forested areas and listen to the sounds - yes, better not use your aircon while driving. If you hear a lot of sounds, stop and look for the birds - if the trees are moving then there is a big possibility that there is a bird there/ there are birds there

Go, go Tina! I'm so delighted you are up and about and shooting great photos again. I personally like the guaiabero and the WTKF. So guavaeros really like guava, that is why they are called such. telyd

No subic police will stop me from doing this? Would try this sometimes.

As always, wonderful shots - Tina!! Love the lighting on all the shots but liked the Guaiabero and the (looks like a young male) Hornbill shots the most.

Thank you Ate Lyds, Ding and Neon toto : I've been birding in Subic for the longest time and I've been only asked ONCE by Subic police what I was doing so I said birdwatching and taking photos of birds. They just told me to go to the office of the forest rangers and let them know that I will be doing those things so that they know. I tried doing that 2x after that incident and every single time I do, it's as if they are all wondering why I have to tell them ... ehhEHhEHeHEhe so I don't tell them anymore and nobody has ever bothered me again ;D It is important though that if you stop along a main road that you turn on your car's hazard lights and park as close to the side as possible so that you don't become a traffic hazard, If the road is really wide or in an area with very little cars then no need to use the hazard lights. DO NOT FEED THE MONKEYS PLEASE <--- sorry I was really trying to make this stand out. So many people feed the monkeys along the roads that they have become a nuisance and very aggressive already. I was taking photos of birds one time and saw a monkey approaching me so I walked back towards the car slowly. It kept on following me until I was running to the car na and it ran after me like crazy - GEEEzzzz !!!! It even went on top of our car. Mind you ha, I never ever fed a monkey everrrrr - Grrrrr! Ate Lyds : Those guaiaberos are guava crazy. They eat tons and tons and then fall asleep and as soon as they wake up, they eat again Ding : Hope you get back in super full fighting form too. It's so hard not to be able to go birding for a long time. Heck, I was counting na the swallows and swifts from my hospital window. Even saw 2 raptors and 3 night herons Neon : Go to the doctor na po kuya ;D and have that knee checked out. Was talking to Aphine yesterday. I asked her what happened to you, so she made me kwento. Hope you get well sooner than soon.

However, my encounter with Subic monkeys are far different. They ran away when i approach them to get some good shots. They probably thought I was uglier than them that they got scared. ;D ;D
