I acquired a Sony a6400 as a back-up camera. This unit has a 24 Mp Crop Sensor, hence it has enabled me to capture these photos of some new visitors at Jugan Fishponds which were a long ways off ... Sony a6400; Sony 200-600; ƒ/8.0; 600.0 mm; 1/1000; ISO 500 -- a Major Crop! Can nybody help ID these birds? Lovely shots, Ka Bobby. I'm a bit rusty on duck IDs, but my best guess is a Eurasian Wigeon (Anas Penelope). Here are some reference photos: Male (350D + Sigmonster + 2x TC, 1600 mm)
Female (1D2 + 500 f4 IS + 1.4x TC, 700 mm)
The other duck in the second photo is of course unmistakably a female Northern Shoveler (Anas clypeata).

Thank you for the ID Ka Mastah! Those shots of yours can still beat the very best that current setups can come up with. No wonder you have always been the King of Bird Photogs in our neck of the woods!! :-)
