I was able to go back to UP Diliman and take the pictures of the Lowland White-eye (Zosterops meyeni) and this time the sun was shining that day. The atmosphere was much more improved compared to last Sunday. This is one of the few times that I can say I had the feeling that I don't have to go back for this bird for the time being. Canon EOS 1D Mark IV, Canon EF 800mm f5.6L IS USM, Gitzo GT3530LS tripod, Wimberley WH200 head. Manual exposure in available light. Eurasian Tree Sparrow (Passer montanus) 1/250 sec., f/5.6, ISO 1600 Lowland White-eye (Zosterops meyeni) Endemic to the Philippines. 1/400 sec., f/5.6, ISO 1600 Lowland White-eye (Zosterops meyeni) Endemic to the Philippines. 1/500 sec., f/5.6, ISO 1600 Lowland White-eye (Zosterops meyeni) Endemic to the Philippines. 1/500 sec., f/5.6, ISO 1600 Lowland White-eye (Zosterops meyeni) Endemic to the Philippines. 1/200 sec., f/8, ISO 1600 Lowland White-eye (Zosterops meyeni) Endemic to the Philippines. 1/200 sec., f/8, ISO 1600 Yellow-vented Bulbul, Pycnonotus goiavier 1/250 sec., f/8, ISO 1600 Yellow-vented Bulbul, Pycnonotus goiavier 1/125 sec., f/8, ISO 1600 Yellow-vented Bulbul, Pycnonotus goiavier 1/160 sec., f/8, ISO 1600

They are starting to get ripe and I think when more get ripe at the same time, there will be more birds on that tree. The YVB are the most aggressive and they would eat a couple of fruits in quick succession. Go now when the weather is good and have a good time.

Beautiful set Ely, much more pleasing than the rain-drenched birds earlier posted. I should visit Diliman soon before the fruits and birds disappear.

Very good detail on all, Ely. I should visit the place before the fruits run out. Thank you Mark. According to Prop Jerry should be good for about two weeks. Than you will will have another tree at the back that should be ripe by about the same time.

You will find it very exciting to see the Lowland White-eye feeding on the Alim fruit. They are about 15 meters or less from where you will be standing. It is relatively near but it will be a challenge to lock them on your focusing point as the birds are very frisky. I can only truly appreciate them when they are on the CF card. LOL

Excellent captures, Ely. The young ETS looks really cute. Thank you Bob. I like the orange color at the base of the beak as it adds color to the bird.
