Thanks for viewing.Greater Sand Plover [Charadrius leschenaultii]Canon 40D + 600mm f/4 IS at 600mm, 1/2000Sec, f/5.6, ISO-400, EV+1, Gimbal and Tripod Greater Sand Plover [Charadrius leschenaultii]Canon 40D + 600mm f/4 IS at 600mm, 1/400Sec, f/5.0, ISO-400, EV+1, Gimbal and Tripod Kentish Plover [Charadrius alexandrinus] Canon 40D + 600mm f/4 IS at 600mm, 1/800Sec, f/5.0, ISO-400, EV+1, Gimbal and Tripod Note: This was previously labeled as Lesser Sand Plover [Charadrius mongolus] but the white neck collar as pointed out by Des, bill and head profile suggested Kentish.. Thanks Rey, Lawrence and William.
Alain: You should visit soon before the migrants leave.
Doc Luico, Doc Boy, Sir Bobby and Tateo: Let's do it again!
Mark: I hope you'll be able to bring home lots of lifer when you visit.
Ramon: Good to hear that. I do hope to meet you in this site during your visit.
Tonji: A guide to plovers even in this relatively small area would be nice but a definitive ID can be a challenge particularly for individual bird shots in unfavorable angles/pose.
Dennis: I'm sure you'll be able to visit olango..
Des: Thanks for pointing out the labels for Photo 3 and 4. I already reflected Kentish and retained the comments in red so that future viewers can learn from this.
