It seems like a picture of a bird with a fish in its beak is the "in" thing lately Beautiful captures, Edu!

Hi Ariel! Thanks for the compliments. It's all about timing. Sir Rey, although I have tons of BCNH pics, this is a lifer for me. Documenting behavior. So this is a docu shot, indeed.

and of course the flyers... Whiskered Tern Camera Nikon D90 Exposure 0.001 sec (1/2000) Aperture f/5.6 Focal Length 400 mm ISO Speed 400 Handheld and as they say.. one good tern deserves another Camera Nikon D90 Exposure 0.001 sec (1/2000) Aperture f/5.6 Focal Length 400 mm ISO Speed 400 Handheld Last pic is typical BIF for me.. whenever I attempt BIFs I am sooooooo slow that they have already flown past me when I get the shot. Also, I am concerned with the Black and/or White halo that mastah mentioned to me, so please for those with calibrated monitors.. are these good?

They are superb. I still have to capture them as well as you did. Well done Edu. Mabuhay. Thank you, Sir Ely. I bet your 300 2.8 can capture these flyers much faster and easier.

Those are really good BIF shots, Edu! Composition and exposure seems to be spot on with my monitor - though not calibrated yet. :-)

Very good BIF captures Edu. Yes, there are no visible halos but they're a little dark in my monitor.

No halo on the TIFs viewing them on my old laptop.
Its hard to expose flying white birds, I tend to burn em. These look fine.

No halo on the TIFs viewing them on my old laptop. Its hard to expose flying white birds, I tend to burn em. These look fine. Hehe there's a neat trick neat to avoid that as taught by the Master Jedi (Ka Romy). Enable your Higlight Alert and shoot at the brightest part of the sky, then adjust your shutter speed and/or opening until the blinkies disappear and you will not have burned BIF's again. Repeat the process if you notice the light has changed. You also have have the optimum exposure unless a Black Bittern appears in which you have to compensate for the blacks. ;D

WOW!!!! Tonji, BobbyK, Rey and Ambasador Ely all pitching in.. my deepest and sincerest appreciations sirs! I was half expecting the response of a bit dark. I guess I was holding back on adjusting the highlights and really scared of halos appearing. Thank you everyone for the inputs. Now where is that guy with the IPS monitor?

Doc Edu I still see the halo. I do not see this as a flaw but a way to make your bird pop out even more. ;D
