To the Administrator, Moderator and Birdnuts,
Can we open a Category/Board that will specifically discuss proper, appropriate and adequate responses/reactions to emergency situations involving PWBP/PBPF Members in the field?
We can discuss in that section vaccines for malaria, dengue, etc. Or how to avoid snakes, and how to treat snake bites, bat bites, limatik, etc.
We can also discuss what brands are good for sunblock and insect repellant all rolled into one, etc.
Or whom to call from among our ranks so he/she can sound the alarm and let the entire cavalry come to aid of a birdnut who falls in a ravine in Diteki Forest in Baler, Aurora for example... or one who becomes a POW of the NPA in Sierramadre because he/she in full birding gear is suspected of being a spy with his very long lens, or worse a sniper.
We can discuss what necessary medicines one should bring along when going on a birding sortie in Makiling where limatiks would surely feast.
Can we do this for a while?

Good idea Alain, that's very important. Maybe we can ask Buboy or Propjerry to give us pointers regarding these matters.
May I also suggest a thread where the Org members can list down their mobile numbers not just for emergency cases but to also make it easier for us to get in touch with each other in any situation. The thread should be accessible exclusively to paid-up members only like the PBP Session Hall.

Sunblock does not mix well with camera gear.

Sylvia and I joined a first aid seminar given by the red cross a while back. What they told us was to use Betadine for all wounds. Bring q tips to apply. Assorted sizes of band aids. And Biogesic for headaches. I also like the non stick First aid pads and micropore tape.
