Guys, i just recently acquire a spyder 3 pro. i installed on my mac book and it seems works fine. the other day, i installed it on my lenovo notebook just to test the calibration if there is a difference on both notebooks (mac & lenovo).
After viewing some images from my files, and images here in the forum, there is a difference in viewing it on my lenovo notebook. colors are seem pale so i try to recalibrate it again but the results is still the same.
Does it matter because of the lcd panel itself? different lcd's renders different displays even if it's calibrated?
just want to know your views on this especially those who have calibrated their displays.
thanks

I think it's not the LCD itself because I remember several years ago that there are only two major makers of the TFT LCD for the computer industry, one is EPSON and the other I think is Hitachi. I guess what will make the big difference is the graphic chips which will produce varying colors and will of course respond differently to color calibration.

Dennis,
OS X & Windows renders colors differently.
Lenovo's CCFL-backlight & Macbook's LED-backlight renders colors differently.
Lenovo's choice of LCD panel & Macbook's LCD panel renders colors differently.
Color Profile unaware browsers and Color Profile aware browsers renders colors differently.
The room you are viewing the images also has an effect on how you perceive colors
A glossy screen vs a matte screen could also affect colors.
Color calibrators like the Spyder 3 Pro are designed to make colors as consistent or match as close as possible. It cannot overcome the limitation inherit in hardware.
So far the only way to have "what you see is what you get" is from a printed photograph with controlled lighting.
