According to "Wikipedia" the Banaue Terraces are part of the Rice Terraces of the Philippine Cordilleras, ancient sprawling man-made structures from 2,000 to 6,000 years old. They are found in the provinces of Kalinga, Apayao, Benguet, Mountain Province and Ifugao, and are a UNESCO World Heritage Site. I was able to see this place for the first time and this is due to my desire to photograph mountain birds. I would like to go back again given the opportunity to do so. Population is growing as you can see the houses that are build beside the rice terrace on the last picture. Erosion is a problem and farmers are getting fewer as the younger generations are moving on to other means of livelihood.
