This shy dove is often found on the ground, usually under the forest canopy where photons are a scarce commodity. As such, it's very tough to photograph well. Big congrats Neon on the great job of capturing the colors very well, in a photogenic environment!

I have yet to see this dove but from the description of Romy of this shy dove and its habit, this might be the closest that I will ever get to see it. Congratulations Neon. Mabuhay.

Thanks Guys!!
I’ve waited for this opportunity since I first laid my eyes on this species, that’s basically when I acquired my first camera. Most of the photos I got were either blurred or under exposed due to the very low light environment these birds hang out. Was really lucky to have a particular tree that was shedding its seeds beside a road and the birds loved it. Even if it was out in the open, due to its constant foraging and head bobbing the more than 100 shots I got only produced about, at the most 10 clear shots. It was luck again that the bird stopped for a while and got ready to take flight because of an approaching motorcycle.
Better get your gears ready for some rare finds!!

Congrats Neon. Great shot. When I took this bird the head was always down pecking at something in the ground. This pose is really nice.
