Ivan , Bobby , Ronnie and Willian .... Thanks for appreciating. I captured this image along the road of Iwahig Penal Colony compound on our back to the hotel. Ha ha ha . I failed to re-set my cam that's why it's ISO is high. 1/800 sec at F8 , ISO 800 / 500 mm + 1.4xTC ( 700 mm ) @ William .... GFBWP also my favorite.

Whoaaa what a harvest !!! That greater flameback photo with 3 birds in it is already enough for the WHOAAAA reaction I can just imagine how fast your heart was beating when you were taking photos of those birds. I went crazy when I was given the chance to see and photograph those birds too when we were in Palawan. Galing !!!!!

Hi Tina, it was worst than that it's like torn between to lovers, hahaha..........the woodpecker or the blue eared king fisher at the same time. we were very lucky then.........it was a great harvest for the two of us.

Oh, you made me miss Balsahan It seems like the big birds are out. Those are great shots Dr. Boy Mac and Marester. Syl, You can just go to Balsahan (River in Iwahig). It is still best to get a permit for the duration of your trip. When you bird as early as 5am, it is best that you are alerted if there's an escapee (pugante). Well if you will just be by the river, it is ok without the permit. When I butterfly-watch, we go about 3km inside the Balsahan Forest. There is a huge tree there where the pair of Great Slaty woodpecker appear, almost all the time that I was there. Irawan Watershed is also a good place to go. In my last trip, I learned from a tsikiting gubat that the chief of the watershed there hunts. The best area is beyond the widest river till the place called "washing". Make sure to have safeguards vs. malaria esp. if you go early or late afternoon. lyd
