Just opening a thread for nature photos taken with cellphone cameras (CPC). We usually take for granted that CPCs are good only for quickie family snapshots, but sensor resolution and optics are getting better now. Pretty soon, we'll be able to print 9"x12"s from such CPC captures. Like birding gear, it takes practice to use these things well too, so let's see your CPC nature photos! Wild birds taken full frame with a CPC will be awarded a slot in PBPF's Hall of Fame. I'll start with some flowers, taken hand held with an N97, uncropped full frame (2592x1944 resized to 800x600): EXIF and GPS Data:Make = Nokia Model = N97 Exposure Time = 1/125" F Number = F2.8 ISO Speed Ratings = 162 Date Time Original = 2010-03-26 06:58:43 Flash = Flash did not fire, auto mode Focal Length = 5.4mm GPS Version ID = Version 2.2 GPS Latitude Ref = North latitude GPS Latitude = 14°28'24.366" GPS Longitude Ref = East longitude GPS Longitude = 121°1'20.7668" GPS Altitude Ref = Sea level GPS Altitude = 59m GPS Measure Mode = 3-dimensional measurement GPS DOP = 1 GPS Map Datum = WGS-84

Gosh. Blurring is excellent. That's great for butterflies! You are Mastah of many gears. Next, before we know it, you will not only be a Canon guy but a Nokia guy as well. Bah... that kind of gear, for sure, will be welcomed prizes. ;D telyd

I took this last January 2009 with an iPhone. It's one of my favorite cel phone pictures because I thought it was so cute that the bird was standing right on the deck of the boat, reminding me of that "king of the world" scene in Titanic. Rufous Night Heron iPhone, f2.8

Thanks, TeLyds! Sylvia, that shot absolutely rocks.... if we can only get close to birds with CPCs, who needs to sell a kidney for the long guns?
