Does this work? Trying to load a picture of Cream-breasted Fruit Dove... Taken 19th March 2008 at Hamut; sorry, I don't know exactly which province this is in. Wish I'd found this website before I visited your country! Apologies if this is too large an image - I need to work on some resizing if it is! J

Thanks for the post and welcome to the forums, jerbar! As customary for the database, we'd refer the photo to our resident taxonomy ace (Steve P.) for ID confirmation before adding it to the list. Would be nice if you can introduce yourself too, as it looks like you're a serious birdnut also like the rest of us. ;D Romy Does this work? Trying to load a picture of Cream-breasted Fruit Dove... Romy, from this view it is tough. I think I might need other views if they exist - in particular, something showing me the crissum, or the throat, in other words, something not just dorsal. It looks immature to me. As I see it, we can eliminate from consideration of the possible ranging Ptilinopus only marchei, and occipitalis. I have only a slight preference for leclancheri based on only this view - but, if I have only this view - no definitive from me.

Apologies - particularly for not introducing myself: most rude. Name's Jeremy, just been on a brief visit to the islands on a birding trip and holiday (March 12th-April 11th). Thoroughly enjoyable. I'm just a birder/ringer (bander) who takes some photos, not a serious bird photographer, as I can't afford the kit. This was taken on a Panasonic Lumix, handheld - hence the rather poor image!
I don't think I have any more useful photos of the bird, I'm afraid, although one appears to show a pale throat - I'll dig that out and post it if it would be any help. Did see the bird from below, just didn't get close enough for photos. I appreciate that they're not exactly conclusive...!
J
PS If anyone on the forum is experienced with odonata & butterflies of the Philippines, I'd be very interested to make contact - I have a handful of unidentified photos I'd love to put names to.

Hi Neon, Very kind of them to allow the upload here. I had previously seen the Siloy Project flickr site - some very nice stuff there - I went through the photos a couple of weeks ago.
