Its good to be back. While on vacation, it was exciting to see new places and experience new things. Getting back home with family & friends is even better as there is no place like home. I have two pictures taken in Mauritius which I would like to share with you. One looks like a Mynah and the other looks like a Cardinal. Perhaps someone can identify them. Canon 5DM2, EF 70-200mm F2.8 IS L Lens with Canon Extender 2X II. Handheld. ISO 3200, 1/500, f8 ISO 1600, 1/500, f8 This picture gives an illusion of another bird that is printed on its face. Perhaps because of the dark background.

Thank you for your encouragement Elvin. I will try to process some pictures everyday so that I can also catch up with what I have missed at the Forum.

I was told that the Red-whiskered Bulbul is called Cardinal Rules. I guess that is what they call them there but I am glad that I am getting it from someone who knows birds. Thank you Bob for your ID. In your reference photo of the Bulbul did you noticed that there is an illusion of another bird on its face?
That is what I missed on this trip but it was just impossible to bring it to so many places with its size and weight. I am with you on this Ed.
I have to start processing the pictures I took in Lusaka. I have some names but they may be wrong. I am posting these pictures even if they are not top quality so that our members can see that there are all kinds of birds all over the world and it makes travelling much more enjoyable when you have other things to do than just seeing the sights.
