That hornbill's really close! I also like the crow doing an Exorcist. 'teLyds: Forgive the White-breasted Woodswallow. That's probably all he can find for breakfast.

Thanks Sir Ding and Sir Romy!
The Hornbill, Oriole and Philippine Bulbul were all taken in one tree at one time! The birds were having their "Buffet Lunch" at that time, so they didn't care about my presence.
Mind you that I only use a 70-300mm Lens without any TCs. So the birds were really close and at Eye Level (Taken from a balcony beside the tree)!
There were also a bunch of other birds (Coletos, Guiberos and BRTs), but I don't have a clear picture.
This was truly a treat for me for the New Year!

Omigosh Torn apart -- but that is a good illustration of the predator/insect relationship. It is a Papilio polytes butterfly, quite common. It is one of the many good tasting butterflies. Others, like the Monarch butterflies/cats. have poisons and are yuckee to birds. Funny, I just posted a suggestion to Ka Romy to feature the insect feeding birds in the photo challenge. You are a few days early Martin.

Oh sorry, after looking again, it is not the Papilio polytes. It may be a Graphium agamemnon. Is that the original color, Martin?

Yup thats the original color...Did very little PP in this image (cropping mostly). All of a sudden I'm curious all about butterflies! Thanks Ate Lyds for the education....I think the Insect Feeding theme would be very Informative!
