Amazingly beautiful capture of this very photogenic endemic Pitta - lovely colors, superb detail, clean perch, creamy background, great pose and food in beak, what more can a birdnut ask for? Top notch wild bird imaging, Tateo...... big congrats and keep 'em coming! Thank you very much for selecting my photo for the week. I am very happy and lucky Ka Masta Romy.

Wow.... both birds amazing captures, Tateo! I took this photo in Palawan and I like to share. My friend Nilo A. said that one of these bird is rare. Plaintive Cuckoo? Canon 7D + 300mm f/2.8L + 1.4x TC, @420mm, f/4.0, 1/25Sec, ISO-200, Gimbal and Tripod Yes.... an immature Plaintive Cuckoo for me too because of the longitudinal barring at the throat, as opposed to the transverse barring in the same area for an immature Brush Cuckoo (see ref. photo below): A ref. photo of an immature PC from Candaba: Thank you very much Romy. Now I find the identification of the cuckoo.
