Greetings my dear friends,
It's been ages since my last post in the forum. I am happy to see continued stream of photos from good friends and birding buddies.
As an aging birder, its a delight to "upgrade" to newer toys to satisfy cravings for feathered subjects.
The following photos of an Olive-backed Sunbird were taken using this extremely handy and light Canon SX60 HS. I think I have not given justice to the features of this camera with only a few clicks. However, the initial results were satisfactory for a beginner in my opinion albeit some traces of camera shake. I hope to improve as I familiarize and establish routines and techniques with this camera.
Happy Weekend everyone!! Olive-backed Sunbird [Cinnyris jugularis] Mactan Island, Cebu 03/11/2017

Thank you, Tateo-san. I hope to learn more on the features of the camera like how to shoot in RAW. I'm too lazy to read the user manual

Lol... from 600 f4 to an ultrazoom point and shoot!
Excellent images from your new toy, Pareng Nilo. I had an SX60 HS and it can deliver long reach and great detail (especially if shot in RAW), all in a compact and light package plus IS. The video quality is quite good as well.
When I get older and my reflexes for BIF shooting deteriorates, I'd probably carry only a future iteration of this camera.

Hehehe, excellent pictures Sir Nilo! I took a different route to address the weight issue and have ordered a Tamron 150-600 Gen2 SP Zoom. Age does impact our mobility and those new super zooms at such affordable prices may just be the ticket. I am keeping the Sigma 150-600 Sports for Tripod-only shoots, but I think the Tamron will see more field use due to its much lighter weight :-) I will post the pictures captured with the Tamron as soon as I have time to use it.

Amazing details, Nilo! Who needs a big white when a compact can do this?! :-D

Wow Nilo !!!! These are wonderful photos taken with the SX60. I only use the SX60 for taking videos because I can't seem to get the detail I want with this camera. Galing mo talaga !!!
