This is one of my many attempts to take a photo of this elusive, rare and endangered flycatcher of Negros. A good old friend visiting in Bacolod for a talk over the weekend and a former member now Usec of DepEd Alain Pascua for a short birding sortie after his talk with DepEd youth club in the region. We decided to go to Gawahon Eco Park the park is managed by Victorias City office of the mayor within the jurisdiction of the Northern Negros Natural Park. The local government of Victorias is a big supporter in of our biodiversity conservation program. After two years of conducting research and conservation in this site the mayor order to protect the site first before promoting it to the birdwatching communities. After two years we started to invite some birdwatchers and photographers to the site. We are planning to launch the site in 2018 after full renovation of old cottages and all conservation programs will be in place like biodiversity protection, awareness, biodiversity friendly agriculture like organic agriculture practices within the park, promoting biodiversity friendly enterprises and promoting conservation based tourism.
