An approximately 500 meter long pipeline consisting of steel pipes joined by rubber-like couplings and supported by steel floaters washed ashore recently at Brgy. Baroro, Bacnotan, La Union, very near my mother's place. The rubber couplings have Chinese character-like markings, and many speculate that these are part of sand-dredging equipment, presumably coming from reclamation activities at the Spratly islands.
The beached pipeline has become an attraction of sorts to local folks, and kids have turned it into a playground.
