{Admin's note - Pogito and I photographed the same bird using our vehicle as a blind. I got more detailed and bigger captures with my 40D + 500 f4 IS + 1.4x, but I'm choosing Pogito's as our FBPOTW because it was done with much less focal length and experience in extreme lowlight shooting. ;D}SPOTTED WOOD-KINGFISHER (Actenoides lindsayi, male)Size - 254 mm total length. Habitat - Lowland forest understory, perches motionless in dark recesses. Range - Luzon and some central Philippine islands (endemic). Photographed by RB "Pogito" Ocon at Mt. Palay-palay, Cavite, on May 6, 2008 20D + 100-400 L IS, 400 mm, f/5.6, ISO 800, 1/30 sec, available light, bean bag
