I did some backyard birding this afternoon after I noticed that the weather has been great for the past several days. I took all these pictures using EOS 7D and 400mm f/5.6L lens. Blue-Crowned Motmot. The locals call this "Pajaro Bobo" 1/200s, ISO800 Female Masked Tityra 1/500s, ISO 800 Male Masked Tityra ISO 800, 1/500s White-Ringed Flycatcher ISO400, 1/800s

Wow Ariel you got the Blue-Crowned Motmot in your back yard and also the Masked Tityra. I did not see them when I was there but I did get the Blue-Crowned Motmot at the Villa Lapas Skyway. As the bird's back was to me I got a clear shot of the racquet tail of the Blue-Crowned Motmot. But your picture of it is a lot better. You can see my picture on this thread: birdphotoph.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=worldbirds&action=display&thread=8737Well done Ariel & Mabuhay.

Thank you Ely. It's been more than a year since I last saw those Masked Tityras and I was just happy to photograph the birds once again before I leave this country. Meanwhile, Your whole-body picture of the Blue-crowned Motmot is nice as it shows the racquet tail. Regards.
