Finally after several years of looking for this bird found a place where there were lots. The only problem was this bird is always foraging inside the forest and seldom ventures out in the open to reveal its true color. Knowing that, I brought a flash and extender with me, but there was a problem, I forgot to buy batteries!! Lucky, Doc Paul was with us and have spare batteries with him. These two pictures illustrated exactly what you were saying about the use of flash. If you don't use the flash you would not be able to get the colors to come out. Well done Neon & Mabuhay.

Thanks again, my friends! for the generous comments! Its been a difficult sortie but its all worth it. If only I could stay in that place, for several days and not drive for several hours to get there, I think this place has more surprises.

I have never seen that bird looking so blue! It always looks black with some blue to me. That flash photo is something else.
