Wow, what a haul! Been out of circulation for a while and really missed going out, with this post I'm getting plenty of withdrawal symptoms. Excellent captures in all, Ramon! For such a small birding area it has exceptional number of species!

Thanks a lot, Neon. Yes, I was struck by how many species, especially hard to find species, can be found in the 1-hectare are of Capayas Creek.

What a collection of photos! The clarity really helps in looking at details for id. Can't wait to visit Coron for some fun birding at the Capayas Creek Bird Preserve.

I have seen the Crested Goshawk a couple of times but not all the time. Was this bird on the big Balete opposite Nancy's place. If so or in your place this will be an added bonus for your CCBP. The first time I saw them they were in the process of building a nest on that tree. However they were also raiding the chicks in the neighborhood causing a slingshot response from the owners. While I was there everyday a chick would be lost. This must be the reason why the nest was eventually abandoned. Nice shot even if it was far and dark. Well done Ramon & Mabuhay.

Thanks, Ely. I got this Crested Goshawk off the highway outside Coron. I have seen a CG at Capayas Creek Bird Preserve but did not get to photograph it. If they nest at the Bird Preserve in the future, they will be protected from slingshots since the property will be fenced with appropriate signs.

Yeah, Ramon, adding a rare one is always a delight. And with the bird shots getting better and better surely make the heart happy. It is always a good feeling going home even with just one treasure shot, exciting when more. I look forward to La Natura on my first butterfly watching in Coron. I hope the rate is not expensive. Thanks for sharing. Lyd

Thank you, Lyd.
I asked birdguide Erwin to plant lots of local flowering plants that attract sunbirds, flowerpeckers and butterflies in the open areas of CCBP. Do you have any suggestions on other flowering plants? Erwin and his family are already cutting a birders' path along the entire length of the creekside boundary of CCBP.

Ramon, with camera you have, and/or being so near to the birds, you certainly photographed every detail of the birds.
