The last time I saw this bird was three years ago and it isn't easy to find one as I only know one place where this can be found. Luckily, I was able to see and take photos of this endemic specie from a close distance. Just to give an idea how close I was, I had to move back a bit because the minimum focusing distance of my lens is only 3.5mts. I was also trying to avoid not to cut the bird's beautiful tail from the frame.. 7D+400mm f/5.6L lens, 1/320s, f/5.6, ISO 500, Manfrotto+GH 7D+400mm f/5.6L lens, 1/320s, f/5.6, ISO 500, Manfrotto+GH 7D+400mm f/5.6L lens, 1/320s, f/5.6, ISO 500, Manfrotto+GH Here's a complete body shot with its long tail.

Another beautiful bird. And feeding on some berries/fruit of some sort too.
I like it when a photographer catches the bird feeding on something or drinking nectar from colorful flowers. I find that it makes a photo more interesting. Great timing Ariel :-)

This is one beautiful bird. It looks like the bird just came from the beauty parlor and had his feathers tease. Perfect timing on the fruit between his beak. Truly a delightful moment in taking these pictures. How I wish birding can always be moments like this. Beautiful bird and beautiful pictures. Well done & Mabuhay.

Great shots of a great looking bird. Thanks Mick. I just wish I know how to use the Photoshop to remove those harsh sunlights from the bird's feathers.
