Is it normal for the Common Greenshank to have this bill coloration? Yes, Bob, grayish at base black at tip slightly upturned, if we could just see the color of the legs we can distinguish it from a Nordmann's (yellowish) which is rare.

I can't see the colour of the legs well enough to be sure they are not yellowish. The bill base is quite deep too so I can see why you posted it.
