I was on a road trip through the Balkans last July, and I stopped at Biogradska Gora national park in the tiny country of Montenegro. Huge centuries-old trees and forest and beautiful Biogradsko mountain lake with great breakfast at the lodge. I heard and then saw this very loud songbird, which I cannot identify. It was very high up in this huge tree, hence the poor quality of the photos. ID please? Canon 7D, Canon 400 mm lens, handheld.

Some people call it a European Robin. There is one singing outside my house now

Thanks for the ID, Paul and Des. I don't know why I didn't make a connection to the European Robin, even though I photographed ERs in Germany a few days earlier. This bird seemed to be bigger, but it was very high up a huge tree. Thanks again.
