A Savannah Nightjar on the beach near San Juan this morning. I haven't seen them there for the last couple of years and it was nice to catch up with it again.

Wow, that's amazing, Paul. I have never seen a Savannah Nightjar, and I never would have thought they nest out in the open on a hot beach. What excellent camouflage it has.
Can you please PM to me the exact location so I can photograph it also? Thanks.

This bird must be like the Chameleon in the sense that it can camouflage itself. The feathers blend perfectly with the sand. What a beautiful picture. Well done Paul & Mabuhay.

What a good shot ...amazing camouflage, how did you spot it? I nearly trod on it! Then it took off, easy to track it down after that.

Paul, Nice find. In case anyone is interested, this is an adult male bird, race griseatus.

Fantastic. We have these birds flying around our house almost every night. I have only seen and photographed them at night or slightly past sunset. These are super cool daytime photos. First shot is so superb! One of my favorite birds.
