Wow, we have these in LB? The Buttonquail is my favorite - let's shoot one of these days!

Yes, that's why I was surprised and excited despite the so-so quality of most of my shots. I saw some of these species in Candaba but I never thought I would see them in LB. I know where to find the buttonquails -- yes let's shoot so I may learn from you. We found some today when Ely T. came.

Tirso, I must say that this is one of the better first posts that I have seen in this forum. Not only for the quality of the photography but also for the variety of the birds. The Wood sandpiper, Plover, and the Quail are my favorites. I like these photos a lot and I think you are going to enjoy bird photography. You are a natural. If you have any questions feel free to ask. There are tens of thousands of photos worth of experience in the board. I have found the people in PBPF to be friendly and very helpful. If I can help you just PM me. Congrats on an excellent first post. I look forward to your future birding discoveries.

Great pictures. The 'Common' Snipe looks more like either Swinhoe's or Pintail to me. The thin loral line is the giveaway. Thanks Paul for the compliment and calling my attention to other types of snipes. Indeed, I downloaded pictures of various types of snipes and indeed proper indentification is very tricky.

I guess I am hooked to bird photography and now I understand why PBPF members are bird nuts in every sense -- birding is a passion, like golfing, which non-practitioners would never understand. Thanks to you and Sylvia for spending time with me sharing your experiences and valuable tips.
