Saw this on a digiscoping forum. A revolutionary design that blurs the boundary between a camera lens and spotting scope. As can be seen from the above configurations, you can connect the master lens directly to a DSLR and it becomes a high-performance telephoto lens. If you decide to use it for viewing, you can detach the camera and connect a prism unit and eyepiece to the master lens and it converts to a spotting scope. Cool eh! ;D The focal length can also be configured to be either a 300mm f/4, 500mm f/5.6 or 850mm f/9.6 with the use of mount adapters. Imagine having 3 lenses in one. Here is the posted MTF chart: Samples photos taken by Neil Fifer with the Kowa lens/scope: www.flickr.com/photos/7892550@N03/sets/72157625881842899/with/5432337932/More about this lens/scope: www.kowa-prominar.com/new/telephoto101103.htm

I would seriously consider this if my interests were solely birds.

I would also consider this because of its being lightweight.. but if this is manual focus only.. no way.

I believe this is manual focus only. The current price I saw in the internet is about 299,250 yen or roughly $3,600.00.
