Dear Romy, I just a bought a 7D last month from Manila and only now that I have the time to use it in the field. From the time I started birding, I never use any post-processing software except for Canon's Digital Professional. With my new camera, I want to bring the quality of my pictures to a higher level. For this reason, I would like to ask a favor to comment on my pictures below. What seems to be missing (or over) in terms of exposures, contrast, colors, sharpness and others things that make a picture "beautiul" from your taste. Thank you very much for your time and I truly appreciate anything that you may suggest. 400mm, f/8.0, ISO250

Hi Ariel,
Lighting was not working in your favor in no. 1 and 3, perhaps try to push the shadows and pull the highlights during RAW conversion. Apply some NR during conversion to reduce the noise that will become visible when pushing the shadows.
The second has reasonable lighting..... try to reduce the contrast a bit and expose the shadows some more to lessen crushed blacks. You can do that in RAW conversion and/or during processing.
Sharpening as posted is a bit conservative; i.e., I'd add more sharpening if these were mine.
