Dear folks,
With more birdnuts owning and using VDSLRs (video-capable DSLRs), I think it's about time to open a separate board for short videos of birds, wildlife, nature or any subject matter.
Shooting, processing and editing video are much tougher than doing the same with still photos. Most of us are new to this game, and the purpose of this board is to share our video work, as well as the techniques in the capture and processing/editing of such.
Why limit the video length to 30 sec.? Couple of reasons.
1. Most of us beginners have a tendency to hesitate cutting to shorter pieces the clips that we captured with great difficulty. Placing a 30 second limit will force us to edit such long monotonous footage into crispier, bite size morsels. This will encourage us to tell our message within the confines of half a minute, forcing us to improve our editing skills.
2. Videos are bandwidth hungry, and brevity will entice more viewers to look at the posted work.
Ok, let's see your video work then. If you have queries on filmmaking, please feel free to post these. For films longer than 30 seconds, you can post such in the usual other boards, depending on the subject matter.
