Edu, I carried everything starting from the early morning hike to eagle watch point and back (whole day). Btw, the 600mm is mounted on the tripod and carried on the shoulder except during heavy rains. There are portions of the muddy trails where I have to carry it like this: Thanks.

Edu, if Nilo can do it you should be able to do so too! ;D
Nilo I heard that some bird photogs train on the treadmill at maximum incline while carrying their gear. Do you do the same as well?

Hi Paolo, I'm glad I don't have to do that in my "past life", I used to carry double the load in the most inhospitable places day and night...

Apart from the Philippine Eagle, my top must-see and possibly photograph bird in Kitanglad Mountain Range is the Apo Myna. The rain clouds were evident in the first day of the trip and were not encouraging for photography. However, I am very happy to not only see the Apo Myna but also take a photo of this interesting bird.Canon 40D + 600mm f/4L IS + 2x Teleconverter @ 1,200mm, f/16, 1/60Sec, ISO-250, EV+2/3, Gimbal and Tripod, MLU, IS-On The photo above is of really low quality. However, the circumstances of its capture made it a keeper for me. Please check the environmental photo taken in reference to the perch of the Apo Myna below. The bird was so far off that you can’t see them with unaided eyes!!Canon 40D + 600mm f/4L IS + 2x Teleconverter @ 1,200mm, f/16, 1/60Sec, ISO-250, EV+1, Gimbal and Tripod, MLU, IS-On Thanks for viewing.
