i know little about composition and am learning a lot from this forum. and even from this thread! Gabs, you are sooo right. I learned a lot from this thread. Now my 18th century mind has been enlightened. My zen experience is rising...like a phoenix from the fire or a whiskered tern from the water.

I know exactly what you mean Tonji, the things we had to do just to get that bird photograph. But then again, you will not necessarily post that very poor shot which we conveniently call a docu or record shot. ;D We might send it to Des or Steve for ID hoping it's a rarity but if it's not, we just keep it for our records. At least that's what I do hoping to get another chance a get it right the second time around or the third or the fourth.... I remember when Bong and I will walk more than a kilometer in mud just to get to the big pond in Candaba. We would go as far as our vehicles will take us and we would ride tricycles and one time a kuliglig just to get a little farther and when these rides can still make it, we would walk the rest of the way. Naturally we had to walk back again after the shoot which normally happens around lunchtime when the sun's very hot. Man it's pure ecstasy. One time I had to wait in Villa Escudero for hours in the rain with my feet in the cold waters of the falls, with garbage bags to protect myself and my gear from the elements, hoping the Indigo banded KF will show up and this is all I got. Well, at least it's a it's a full frame capture. ;D
