I'm still in a non-birding mode. Here's a small flutterer from this morning. 7D + 100 2.8 USM macro, f/7.1, 1/200 sec, ISO 400 (+1 stop EC during conversion, hence = ISO 800), hand held, manual exposure in available light, near full frame resized to 1500x1000

DOF control on macros is really a hard task isn't it?
Incredible macro sir!

I really like your DoF control as well Romy. It would be a winner in a "minimum depth of field" themed contest.

Thanks, Edu and Pao! I couldn't stop much beyond f/7.1 - f/9...... or else I'll start to be diffraction limited, plus the shutter speed will be too slow for hand holding. Spot AI servo helped me place the thin DOF where it matters.

Caught a bigger one this morning. 7D + 100 2.8 USM macro, f/10, 1/200 sec, ISO 400, hand held, manual exposure in available light, spot AI servo, near full frame resized to 1500x800.

You make me happy. Here's FOR KA MASTAH. TWO FROM THE BUTTERFLY LADY. Catopsilia pomona - female 0.002 sec (1/664) f7.0 ISO 100 CAtopsilia pomona - Male 0.003 sec (1/395) f/7.0 ISO 100 These butterflies hover over Golden Shower trees (Cascia- which is a larval host). They are also called the Yellows and the Sulfurs. They are often seen in the city. If you don't see them, the pollution level is high.
