It was mostly cloudy in Candaba. The ducks were in the middle of the pond most of the time and there was a time that it was so humid that Alex Loinaz almost went naked !!! HAhahAHahhAHAaA Seriously, Wency and I had a lot of FUN with you guys !!!! It was so nice to finally meet Alain, Jagey, Jun, Moises and Tony plus the others that were with Rey (wish you guys joined us earlier yan tuloy the only name I seem to remember is Bong and photogenie - the guy who sells Nikons ba) It is always such a blessing to be with friends ;D ;D ;D We really, really missed those that weren't there Thank you birthday girl IXI for the bottomless supply of delicious food - Haaaaaaaaay what a day it was Thank you oh so much Alain for the copy of Wings in the Water, the Birds of Candaba Swamp - That is one beautiful video (I will treasure it forever). It's nice to know Wings in the Water, the Birds in Candaba Swamp video is now treasured forever. You're very much welcomed, Tina and Wency!
Extra copies may just be ordered via PM or email, and I can have it/them delivered. We usually sell it for P200.00, but for members of this Forum and WBCP, it's P150.00.
Many thanks!
Alain

It was nice to finally put a face on familiar names here in PBP. Too bad "Kuya Kim" may have ruined the opportunity for us at Candaba by scaring away the birds - to think I even waved hello to him when his convoy passed by . Don't have any photos to share for now, I definitely need to practice more hehe. I just wanted to share some newbie mistakes that I managed to make: - forgot to shoot in raw (would have been ok/acceptable if not for the fact that I was shooting with the wrong WB most of the time) - I found out the hard way that when the weatherman say partly sunny/partly cloudy he may not be kidding! hehehe - I vehemently refused to remove my 2xtc w/ 200-400mm Tamron combo for fear that I might miss some excellent shooting opportunities...so I promptly missed shooting the excellent light show during sunrise, and managed to end up with images that are a little oof and with lower IQ (add to this my disdain after seeing Moises' excellent macro shots...while my macro lens stayed well inside my bag and never saw the light of day) - Didn't really took the initiative to seek where the birds are so we wasted a lot of time in one place instead of actively seeking good birding spots. Good thing Tina was there to show us the way! - Should have been more mindful of the sun (I had several things with me for protection but chose instead not to use them), so I had to contend with migraine midway into the morning, and slight fever Sat. night to Sunday morning (hydrate! hydrate! hydrate!) - Most important, we missed the lunch, fud, beer and camaraderie because we had not planned to stay longer than we did So after listing above everything that went wrong...when do we go back?

Hope you are much, much better na Jagey Now that you know how to go to Candaba, you can go there anytime you want na. Candaba is really a good place to practice bird photography. Where did Moises post his macro shots?
