hmmm.. for such a legendary lens, that almost has its own personality, with the need to be "tamed".. I think it will be the Sigmonster will be the one to choose its next master

Hehehe..... if a prize is made available for correctly guessing the ID of the next Sigmonster Tamer, I reckon the odds are nobody will win. I just took out the shipping box from storage, and will devote the whole morning today to clean what ever external dust is on the bag.

Would it be Ding? Hehehe... anyway, I smell a 1dm4 for the Mastah! Hehe.... this ex-Sigmonster Tamer is a genuine Ilokoslovakian, Ivan. The 7D is working well at BIFs for me, and I can't muster the courage to buy the 1D4 (although it's even better than the 7D).... hoping that Canon gives it to me for free. ;D

If the Master is hinting that nobody has yet correctly guessed the next "Tamer", then I believe my jaws will drop if I learn that the new "Tamer" will be one of the lady photogs.... Much more if I learn that it's Ate Lyds and she'll use it to shoot butterflies to document their DNA structure. ;D ..... How I wish I have the money to buy this legendary glass.

Wouldn't it be amazing if it's TeLyds who's the next Sigmonster Tamer? I can imagine her in full battle gear strutting in Subic (with Ka Bert the hubby carrying the beast), stopping now and then to shoot anything that moves - birds, butterflies, monkeys and overzealous Subic cops. And when she spots a male tourist with a camera by the roadside, she'll stop, set up the Sigmonster, and shoot beside the tourist as if doing so is just a daily routine. Then, she tells the tourist after the latter had picked up his jaw from the asphalt: "You know Grasshopper....er.... friend, it's not the size of the thing, but how one uses it." ;D

Maybe it's Nilo Arribas? He's been aching for a 600mm, and since the Sigmonster is being priced quite attractively, hmmmmm .... :-)

I love this ID guessing game..... much more exciting than watching The Buzz for blind items!

Maybe it's the Plain Idol, she finds the 500 F4 too easy to tame as handhelds it for BIF, maybe she wants to try something more exotic for handheld flight shots.

My bet's on Bong. I initially thought of Tina but... in her hands she'd be unstoppable. So no challenge for plain idol.

Would it be Ding? Hehehe... Very possible.... that fellow's "Sigmonster Tamer impersonation act" has become a classic... perhaps he's getting the Sigmonster to be really authentic? I've been wanting to do a "Ding" on Ding for a long time, mwuahaha! ;D Hmmm ... i am guessing he/she would be from the Nikon camp! lols! I had JP's DNA examined, and the findings are it's Nikon to the last sequence. However, nothing is impossible.... anyone can see the light at the right time and place. ;D ;D

This is an interesting/amusing thread indeed. Like Tonji, I was nursing a flu after a series of inter-island outings and extended night activities last week and the week before that. I didn’t realized that my son (Nilo Angelo) already reserved this lens with Romy. My computers at home were up almost 24/7 the past week and the kids are always there shifting browser tabs. The llittle boy might be thinking that I should test the "Sigmonster" first (form factor and general handling) and I can’t do that last week... He is more than happy if this pushes through because he is already itching for my “Bigma”!!

Ok, ok... since Pareng Nilo broke radio silence, I have no recourse but to admit that he had been trying out the Sigmonster hand held. ;D This is an interesting/amusing thread indeed. BTW, the next Sigmonster Tamer will check out the lens tomorrow, somewhere within a 100 km radius from Rizal's monument at Luneta.

He, he... I am a suspect, whoa! You see, when you are always happy, people think you are rich.
If I shed off 50 lbs. before the sale ends, I will be able to carry the monster and the metal stand, myself. Right now, I find difficulty carrying myself. I huff and puff now. And... and...Bert does not need another monster in the house. He'd most likely choose to carry a piano than be a sherpah for me and the monster. Ha, ha...
Nah... I am happy with Bong's ex 300mm F4L. What I want to inherit from the Mastah is the skill. Ka Romy is right, I am a wild photographer, ha, ha.
I will not be surprised if Nestor spends his income from the kids for a monster. When one looks at the photos taken by the Master, I am very sure that some nuts there are having sleepless nights over it.
My next guess is Godo?

The Cebu Flowerpecker just became a little less elusive. In Nilo's hands, Cebu birds will start appearing that much closer. ;D
